Zoom Cherry Summer Sun - 2 Year Old 5 Ft Tall Bare Root British Grown Fruit Tree

Cherry Summer Sun produces delicious late variety of cherry tree bred at the John Innes Institute in Norfolk. With large deep red to black fruits which are sweet and full of juice this is one of the best cherry varieties for the UK. It is frost resistant, self-fertile and a reliable cropper even in a British climate.

This premium variety fruit tree has been lovingly grown right here in the UK, experience unusual and exciting new varieties of fruit not seen in your local supermarket!

This specimen is ready to plant into your garden on delivery or grown on in a container until you are ready to plant it in the ground. Once planted it will quickly establish itself and start producing a good crop of delicious fruit. The rootstock restricts the growth of the tree, so there's a maximum yield of accessible fruit from your cherry tree and no need for ladders or climbing. It also only needs a small sunny space to thrive in your garden, in a pot on a patio or even on your balcony.

Planting Instructions

Position your fruit tree in a sunny, sheltered spot to help maximize fruit ripening and protect it from extreme and adverse weather conditions such as strong winds and harsh frosts.

Digging the soil before planting is recommended for aeration, breaking up compacted subsoil and improving drainage; you should also remove any perennial weeds and add organic matter such as well rotted garden compost at this point too.

The planting hole should be about one third wider than the root system and the same depth, so that the level of the soil is equal to the soil mark on the stem of the tree. Sprinkle in some fertiliser around the base and sides and lightly fork over to mix in and to allow for easy extension of the root system.

Place the tree in the hole ensuring that trunk is upright, then refill with the excavated soil. Gently press down with the heel of your boot to firm the soil and water in well.

A newly planted tree should be watered once or twice a week during hot weather and less so during cool weather. This is dependent on soil type; if your soil is heavy clay you will find that you need to water less however if it is a light sand then you will have to water more often.

Care Instructions

Please ensure upon receipt you immediately fully submerge the root systems in water and leave to soak for at least 2 hours before planting.
